An email from D.S. Paul Gillespie (now retired) from the Toronto Police service to Bill Gates requesting Microsoft's assistance in tracking down criminals that were involved in the exploitation of children kicked off a 2 year effort to develop an application that is now being picked up by many other law enforcement organizations across the world. Microsoft have called this the Child Exploitation Tracking System or CETS for short.
Tim Cranton is an Attorney at Microsoft and is also Director of our Worldwide Internet Safety Enforcement Programs, and in this interview he gives an in-depth background to not only CETS, but also some of the other work the team is engaging on around the world to make the internet a safer place to be for every user.
