I just got the following info today from our US Public Sector team....
Due to popular demand, and to provide better support for planned demos, we have enabled a new feature on the Public Sector Demo Site that will allow you to customize your hosted demos and save the state of the demo for future use.
You will still need to schedule your demo to gain access to the saved versions, but each user will now have the ability to save up to 5 separate customized demo instances.
To take advantage of this new feature, you will:
- Start a demo session like you normally would.
- Make custom changes to the image during that session.
- Save those custom changes to a saved version of the image by providing a unique name for each saved state.
- Save up to 5 separate saved images at any time per user.
- Re-run demo from the saved state image .
- Make updates to saved images as often as needed.
- Create a new saved image from an existing saved image.
This feature is currently available for all Office SharePoint RTM demo images on the site.
We will also be delivering new scenarios and demo features on June 1, 2007.
The following new features and scenarios will be available for each of the 4 demo images (SLG, Federal, Higher Ed and K12)
- Enterprise Project Management (integration of new Project Server 2007 and Portfolio Server 2007 into each demo image).
Additionally, the following images will be updated to include:
- State & Local Government
- Connected Government Solution Flash Demo
- Federal
- Federal Budget Planning.
- Higher Education
- SLK Reporting Tool (developed by SolutionsIQ – Shared Source).
- SLK Assessment Builder Tool (developed by Nusoft – Shared Source).
- Vista Front-end VPC (adding a VISTA VPC to each demo platform so that the field can perform the demonstrations via a VISTA desktop – this is available on all 4 demo platforms).
- K12
- SLK Reporting Tool (developed by Solutions IQ – Shared Source).
- SLK Assessment Builder Tool (developed by Nusoft – Shared Source)
- SLK Content.
