About Solution Sharing

Sharing, sharing, sharing - what would motivate any organization to share anything with another?

Lots of public sector organizations would like to make better use of the Intellectual Property in the solutions they have developed either through increased reuse, bartering it with others in exchange for something they have not developed yet, collaboratively improving it through some social network, even selling it in some cases.  Through working with a wide range of customers through Microsoft's Solutions Sharing Network program, I come across lots of good examples that I feel would be worthwhile sharing more broadly, and I will do so in this blog.

Many organizations would like to share best practice internationally, but they run into blockers on things like licensing, indemnification if something goes wrong, or simply making their content accessible.  Again, I will have a look at some ways that people have addressed these issues.

Finally, in order to address the opening statement, I hope to demonstrate what the benefits actually are...
